As we age our skin looses fullness and can start to look dull and feel dry. Small wrinkles start to show and up and very soon you’re not happy with how your skin looks. You may think this is just a natural part of aging and you have to put up with it. That’s not true. Today there are many cutting edge skin care products to help you have soft supple skin no matter what your age. There are also some tips and tricks you can do to help your skin be the best it can be. Here are some of them for you to try.
• Exfoliate at least once a week. Getting dead skin cells off of the surface of your skin will immediately improve its look. New healthy skin cells will be uncovered and if you exfoliate on a regular basis it will increase the blood flow to new cells deep within your skin and help your skin look and feel younger. Remember to use a gentle touch when you exfoliate. There’s no need to be too vigorous, you don’t want to tear your skin or cause damage, just slough off the dead cells on the surface. If you have acne you may want to forego exfoliation until your blemishes are healed in order to prevent the spread of the bacteria that causes acne.
• Use a facial brush to cleanse your face. When used gently each day it will get the dirt and oil trapped in your pores and gives your face a relaxing massage each day.
• Only use tepid or lukewarm water when cleansing your face. Water that is too hot will irritate your skin and leave it red and aggravated. The water only needs to be lukewarm to carry away the oil and dirt each time you cleanse your face.
• Pat your face dry. Don’t rub your face with your towel, this can cause lines and irritate sensitive skin.
• Find an all natural and organic skin care line. These products have none of the chemicals in them that can irritate your skin and cause allergic reactions. Plus they’re better for the environment and aren’t tested on animals.
• Use skin care product that match your skin type and its needs. If you have oily skin use water based skin care products and makeup. If your skin is very dry look for products containing natural oils like sunflower oil, shea and Argan oil.
• Wear sunscreen all year. Even in the dead of winter the sun can burn your skin. Look for products with sunscreen in them and apply them each time you go outside.
• Drink plenty of water. This is one of the most important tips I can give you. Staying hydrated plumps up your skin cells and makes your skin look younger.
Use these simple tips to look great at any age. Find a skin care line you like and that works well for you skin and stick with it. Be gentle with your skin and you will have soft supple skin at any age.
