The Essential Tool: Diffuser
If you have naturally curly hair, you may choose to straighten it, blow it out, or let it air-dry. No matter which method you use, you may be missing out on the best way to make the most of your curls.
Based on how you style your hair, you may already own a hair blow dryer. If not, be sure to check out some of the latest styles. Once you own a blow dryer, there may be one essential tool you don't have: a diffuser.
By using a diffuser, you can control the way your curls dry, keep your hair's volume under control, and you can manage any frizz. While letting your curls air dry is good for your cuticle, you don't always know what you're going to be left with. If you use a diffuser, you're still keeping direct heat off your strands, but unlike air-drying, you'll know how your curls will turn out.
Using a diffuser is quite simple. Once you've attached the diffuser to your hair blowdryer, just follow these easy tips:
1. Separate your hair into sections.
2. Tip your head upside down, or lean your head to the side.
3. Turn your hair blowdryer to medium heat and begin drying one section.
4. Don't overdry your hair. Just dry it to the point your curls are locked into place. Then let it air dry the rest of the way.
